Creative Belli #125 Use Acetate or Vellum

The Belli Challenge for the next two weeks is to use Acetate or Vellum.
I made an ATC for the challenge. I used a digital image from McMahon Five Designs called Halloween Witch, and the sentiment is from Create with TLC.  The DSP is Heidi Grace and I have added a Zig Zag stitch around the outside edge of the ATC.  I colored the image with Copic markers and added Sakura Gelly Roll pen sparkly accents.
Do you remember back when when SU sold that swirly vellum?  Am I dating myself?  I thought it would go along with the Halloween theme.

The spirit of the Belli challenges is to encourage you to use your OLD and FORGOTTEN embellishments!

For ideas and inspiration, check out the DT creations:

Bloggers Challenge- Tic-Tac-Toe

Looking for Dude Time Doodles- BoniBleaux Scavenger Hunt/Blog Hop?  HERE you go!

This week our Bloggers Challenge 'Mom' LISA challenged us to a game of Tic-Tac-Toe.
I used Embossing, Pattern Paper and Ribbon/Seam Binding.

The background technique and embossing is Technique Junkies Faux Washi paper from the latest newsletter.  The image is from Priscillastyles and is for a Progressive Digi Challenge at the Crafters Digital Art Center.  I colored the image with Copics and added highlights with a Sakura Gelly roll pen.  (If you know me, you know I LOVE pink......).......

The patterned paper I used is Basic Grey Euphoria.  The Seam Binding was dyed using Rose Red SU reinker. I also tried something new- I made the clamshell knot with some Mizuhiki cord I purchased and have never touched...... It was not as hard as I thought it would be.

Come play along with Bloggers Challenge- it is Just For Fun and we all enjoy visiting each other's blogs and seeing different interpretations of the challenge!  Stop by Challenge 'Mom' Lisa's BLOG and say hello!

Bloggers Challenge- Sketch

On Your Wedding Day Pat & Kristi!

This weekend, my nephew was married in New York.  He and his bride opted for a very intimate ceremony with just immediate family. They will have a reception in Illinois in September- I cannot wait to celebrate with them.

When I saw this digi from Glitterbabe, I immediately e-mailed Stef and told her I had to have this image and had Pat and Kristi in mind. I have been waiting patiently to use it....and the day is here (and gone- awesome day it was weather wise too).
I used some gorgeous cardstock- I truly wish the picture would show how gorgeous this cardstock is! Here is a sideview close-up where you can see the cardstock a little better:
The White Diamond cardstock is so gorgeous and glimmery and the Silver Laser Glossy cardstock has a stripe in it that is hard to visualize here. I used the pre-colored image and added Shimmer with Sakura Stardust Gel pen.

Challenges:
Challenge up your life- No patterned paper
Just Some Lines- Embossing
Little Claire's Designs- Wedding
Mark's Finest Papers- Emboss It

New Great Blog- Artsee Craters and a Feline Playful PARTY!

I wanted to share a Blog I found recently- a little bit of everything to inspire me!  Check it out:

                                                    ARTSEE BLOGGER.

Artsee Blogger was recently launched by Geri Centonze- she is a Mixed Media artist.  Her idea is to create a directory of 'Creatively Inclined' persons and there is alot there to keep you 'occupied'! Grab a cup of coffee of Tea, and check it out!
The Blog is organized by interests- so you can browse your area of art and those that peak your interest. She also posts interviews with Bloggers, there are links to Tutorials, and a place to post your blog candy among other things.
       **************************************************************

I have recently volunteered to join the Feline Playful challenge blog to hep post challenges and challenge winners.  I love this resource and use it often. The ladies have decided to have a Blog party called Feline Thankful.
And the PARTY- this will be a HUGE party!!!
 From the Feline Playful Blog:
The update team at Feline Playful is feeling very thankful these days. We have the most wonderful group of faithful followers (over 1700!!!) and we get to visit so many incredible challenge blogs where we are getting inspiration and making friends. Oh, and do I even need to mention that we also get to work with each other (and the Feline Playful team is truly the greatest group around!!!).

We are also feeling the need to celebrate a bit. Did you know that Feline Playful is now tracking over 500 challenge blogs!?! No wonder we're doing a happy dance!

We've decided to take this opportunity to hold a little party ... OK, actually we want it to be a BIG PARTY. How does a week of blog candy sound to you? With prizes being awarded every single day of that week? And a blog hop with members of the Feline Playful team (both present and past).

Want to be involved?
If you can sponsor the "Feline Thankful" blog party, please contact the team at felineplayful@gmail.com. We want to make sure and include as many of the challenge sites as we can so for those of you who aren't aligned with a designer or shop, how offering a Guest Design Team spot?

We would love to have you along for the ride of what we think it going to be one of the biggest prize pool blog hops the online crafting community has ever seen.

Mark your calendars for September 21st (International Day of Gratitude, by the way) which is when the fun will start. And keep watching this space for more information about the Feline Thankful Blog Party!
We hope you will enjoy the party and stop by and join in!
***If you are not up for the party or the Blog Hop and prizes, no worries- we will still be tracking the challenges and posting winners.***

I hope you have a great day!

SVG fun and a picture Tutorial- How to cut out a sentiment with the Make the Cut software

I had the opportunity to play a little tonight with and SVG file and cut out a quick card.

I used the Fancy Frames SVG File by Paper Cutz from McMahon Five Designs for my card.

I used the bottom of the three outlines for the base of my card. I copied it, pasted it onto itself and then slid the top copy over to the side- overlapping them slightly and welded the shape together- so I have a shaped card. I used digital designer paper from the Modern Flowers series for the second layer and a sentiment from the Modern Flowers digi set for the final layer.
I wanted to show you how I created the layer with the sentiment using the Make the Cut. I took a scrap piece of cardstock and cut out the sentiment panel.
I have my sentiment printed out on cardstock- so I trim that to fit under the piece of paper on my mat with the cut out- do not remove it from your mat- simply lift it up from the top and slide the sentiment panel underneath it.

Now I slide my sentiment under the cut out so it is right where I want it to cut out.

Next, just lift off your template, press down on your sentiment panel to make sure it is secure on the mat and hit cut.

The background cardstock is So Saffron from Stampin Up.
I hope you will give this a try and create layered cards with your sentiment as the top layer.

Next I elongated the file- how fun are SVG's???
Yes, this is the same file as the one on top- I simply dragged the bottom curser on the make the cut down and this new shape was created. I used Technique Junkies techniques Faux Washi paper and Cuttlebug Highlights on this card. The digi image is by Solocosmo at McMahon Five Designs.
So, this is what the file looks like when I import it into my MTC.  So, I simply drag on the arrow andmove it to the right and it elongates the file.  You can choose to move any of the arrows to alter a file.

Here is the final shape I used for the card I made.

Check What's New at the McMahon Five Designs store to see the other SVG files that have been released. There is an Awareness Angel freebie that I am going to play with next........

Have a great day
Shelly

McMahon Five Designs 8/18 releases

I had fun creating with the new release from McMahon Five Designs this week.

This darling skunk is from the Solocosmo line of digital images. I colored the image with Copics on Cryogen White cardstock, and used a few Technique Junkies techniques- namely Decorated Pretties, Out of the box and Cuttlebug Highlights. I used Labels 10 Spellbinders to cut out the image.
The Sketch is Midnight Madness #117.  I added color to the Prima Cameo Roses with a touch of sponged Red ink. The smaller flowers from Kaiser are stamped and colored with Copics, then spritzed with Smoosh Spray and a rhinestone colored with Copic Y21 was attached to each center.
The sentiment is from my silly side-made by McMahon Five Designs.  I have one going to college for the first time...and 2 older kids.  I am one of those Mom's that says, "Don't drink and Drive" , or "Make good decisions" every time the kids step out of the house..... I think this is great for college kids and first time drivers......and I am sure there are alot of other good uses for it too!

For my second card, I went soft and vintage with the image called Safe Return:

I printed the image on Cryogen White- love the soft sparkle in it- and colored with Copic markers. I used a Blue Linen cardstock from my stash for my base. I added Parisian Accents Spellbinder cut outs in Prima Annalee (musical score) and layered it all on a textured cardstock. The flower was crocheted with red 321 and I added Bakers Twine as a final accent with a gold heart charm embedded in the center.
Can you see her heart longs for her man's ship to sail in and for him to come running to her when the boat lands and take her in his arms!
