Sweet Stamps- Frames

It's another great challenge at Sweet Stamps .  Our challenge theme for this week is Frames.
Sweet Stamps carries alot of Frame Stamps and many die cut Frames as well.
I was anxious to try out this new die frame by Joy Crafts- that I just received from Sweet Stamps. I used Coordinations cardstock in Meadow for the frame. The image was colored in the Berry Red Copics and Victorian Greens.
I am a bit under the weather and brain fog is in full force, so I was fortunate to have the assistance of a Sketch challenge to help me complete my card!  I used Sketch #84 from Papertake Weekly. I love this Bo Bunny DP - the colors are so rich : )   I had to add some stitching with my machine for a final accent.

Here are the Sweet Stamp Supplies I used on my card:

More Pasted Delusions

I had 3 of the Pasted Delusions backgrounds with me on my trip, so had to use them up!
I used a CTMH Halloween set for the 1st one:
I used Copics to color in her hat brim and socks.

For the 2nd card, I used a stencil I got in a grab bag from Stampaway (for $1.00)
I also used the TJ dotty edges on this card- the Great Impressions image is colored with Copic markers, the Hero Arts sentiment I just scribbled on some color. I thought this would be a great "Celebration' card.

I will be heading home tomorrow- sleeping in my own bed! I hear next week, the Chicago area will be in the high 40's for temps, so I will be taking out sweaters and long sleeved shirts!

Challenges:
Cheerful Stamp Pad- Use Stencil
Bloggers Challenge- Halloween
Simply Create Too- Halloween
Totally Papercrafts- Too Cute to Spook

Pasted Delusions

I had a little creative time today- I made a background using Pasted Delusions- from the latest Technique Junkies newsletter.

I made a couple of backgrounds before I hit the road- and have to say- they are fabulous IRL- the color is so vibrant and the embossing paste is so fab! (Wendy Vecchi embossing paste : ) )
I used Postcard Geisha Image 2 HERE from Taylored Expressions from Art Neko/About Art Accents and colored it with Copic markers. The sentiment and dragonflies are by SU (Asian Artistry). I added some Smoosh to the top of the dragonfly and the Flourish diecut from Sweet Stamps.

Sister Act- Anything Goes
Addicted to Stamps and More- Coloring
Crafting with Dragonflies- Nature/Trees/Leaves- stencil BG bamboo trees
Try it on Tuesday- Textures

Mustard Jar

I got a creative whim yesterday......and was inspired by a Sketch, so went to work trying to put together a card while away from home.

The sketch has an oriental theme- so I had one of my Mom's Japanese China Painting students write out a sentiment for me- meaning something along the line of Best Wishes. The image is a Mustard Jar (we just use mustard out of the container we buy it in....). Image is by Vee Escobar from "Art Interchange Journal " 1889). We could not figure out how to resize the copy, so just went with it as is.......
I colored with Derwent pencils, the circle is cut out from tracing around a glass, then the white I trimmed off a touch. I added Smoosh to the White circle, around the mustard colored layer and the centers of the flowers. I added score lines around the outer edges and rhinestones to finish off the card.
I am wanting to win some Oriental Stamps from Mark's Finest Papers, so keep your fingers crossed for me. MFP has a weekly Oriental Sketch challenge I will have to try to enter more often, as they are a Technique Junkies sponsor, so it would be nice to have more MFP images when creating : )

Sweet Stamps Anything Goes Plus Option- Center Step Card

It's another great challenge at Sweet Stamps .  Our challenge theme for this week is Anything Goes. We also have a Monthly challenge for the 15th of each month, so we are combining the challenges this month- so our added challenge- Center Step Cards.
I combined the challenge and made a Center Step Card:
The image is stamped multiple times and I used the Technique Junkie 8/2010 technique called Layer Up. The far Rt flower is 4 layers and each layer is not the same- the top layer is just the front/lower part of the floral image (no dimensionals used). The leaves are raised up as well.

I am out of town and with limited supplies...I made the oval die cut out before I left home.  I used a piece of vellum my Mom had in her (small) stash, and an old picture frame as a home made stamp-a-ma-jig..... so I also made an ATC with the Vellum image I used in the above process......
I used a needle and made pokey holes in the Vellum (pierced holes Technique Junkies 4/2011)  and colored from the back with Copic Markers. I had no vellum adhesive, so sewed little stitches in the corners.....

It is a nice day here, but the sky is overcast, so sorry for the bad pictures.....

Here are the Sweet Stamps supplies I used:

Treat Pouch

Happy Friday- we are getting ready to head to Cincinnati for a wedding and to visit my parents.  I hope the ride will be colorful with the trees changing colors!

Before I head out, I wanted to play in the Oriental Stamp Art Sketch #243. I am going to give it to my Mother, who is a China Painting teacher- and has many Japanese students.
This pattern is on the Technique Junkies 3D and Fun Folds CD and is called a Goodie Purse. It is a quick and easy project. I stamped a background of Chinese characters on white glossy CS and used Rich Razzleberry ink. I layered it on Copper Metallic cardstock. The dragonflies are by Michael Strong and are stamped in So Saffron Ink,

 I added candy inside : )

I hope you have a safe and happy weekend!

Sweet Stamps- Fall

It's another great challenge at Sweet Stamps . Our challenge theme for this week is Fall.

I love Fall colors- so I decided to use Distress inks and make a background with them. The leaf and acorn dies (Cheery Lynn set) leave detailed lines in the die cuts, so the leaves look realistic IMO.

Here are the Sweet Stamps supplies I used:
